GREENBELT TRAILS NOW A BETTER HIKING EXPERIENCE
“Agriculture Hits the Trails” project highlights farmers’ environmental achievements
TORONTO AND GUELPH, ONTARIO – Ontario’s farmers have invested in trails along the Greenbelt. On Wednesday, they will launch Agriculture Hits the Trails interpretive signage showcasing their environmental achievements within the Greenbelt and throughout Ontario.
“Farmers and our conservation partners are proud to share their environmental achievements with hikers, trail users, and outdoor enthusiasts along the Greenbelt trails,” said Fraser. “The colourful and informative signs showcase a range of advancements made by farmers from general environmental planning on farms, to specific achievements in greenhouse gas reduction and reduced energy use.”

WHERE: On the Elora-Cataract Trailway at Dundas Street in Erin, east of Main Street and Centre 2000

Spokespeople from AGCare (Agricultural Groups Concerned About Resources and the Environment) and the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation will be on-site to show you the interpretive signage, discuss the project, and the environmental achievements of farmers.
