Executive

Chair – Richard Blyleven (Ontario Wheat Producers’ Marketing Board)

Richard was raised on a dairy farm in Hagersville, just south of Caledonia, in Haldimand County.  Upon graduating in 1975, Richard went to work on the home dairy farm, and a year later in the spring of 1976 bought a hog farm in Caledonia adding another farm in 1981.  In 1989 the family decided to sell the farms and move to the south end of the county where more land was available, buying a cattle farm in Fisherville.  Richard got out of cattle after BSE in May 2003 and bought a laying hen farm in 2004.
 
Richard's agricultural involvement includes 4-H, 3 terms on Haldimand Soil and Crop, Haldimand Pork Producers and as a delegate to the Ontario Wheat Producers' Marketing Board (OWPMB).  Richard currently is a director on the OWPMB, and a member of the newly formed ag advisory committee to Haldimand County Council.
 
Richard, his wife Janet, and four children currently raise organic eggs and 750 acres of crops just north of Fisherville, Ontario
