Who is AGCare?

AGCare is a clever acronym for Agricultural Groups Concerned About Resources and the Environment. We are a coalition of 17 different farm organizations representing the farmers who grow fruit, vegetables, and field crops in Ontario.

Jackie Fraser
Executive Director

Jackie was raised on a dairy farm in Huttonville, just west of Brampton. She graduated from the University of Guelph with an Agricultural Sciences degree, majoring in Resources Management, in 1994 and an M.Sc.­ in Land Resources Management in 1996.

Jackie has worked as an environmental consultant and project manager for ESG International and as Environment and Resources Manager for the Aggregate Producers’ Association of Ontario. She returned to her farming roots as Executive Director of AGCare in May of 2003.

Jackie recently graduated from the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP) as a member of Class 11. She currently sits on the Centre for Rural Leadership board.

Jackie and her husband Derek live on a small hobby farm outside of Fergus, Ontario.

 

Heather Hargrave
Communications Coordinator

Heather was raised on a beef cow calf operation near Dundalk, ON.  She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Agricultural Business in 2007. 

Before joining the OFAC and AGCare team full time, Heather worked as a summer student for two years with both organizations, travelling across the province to events to help promote agriculture.  Heather is also a past President of the Canadian Junior Angus Association and a past 4-H member.

Heather currently lives in Guelph, ON but often travels back to the family farm to help out.
